Old Vine and Kuse @ McKinley Piazza

A day before my birthday last year, I treated some of my closest friends at the office- the couples Ngo and Uy- to lunch.  I was new to McKinley Hill and its Piazza then so we just went with the most-expensive looking restaurant there.  I kid.  But it wouldn’t feel the same if it were [...]

Ditzy Diner @ E. Rod

We discovered a new nice-enough hang-out place.  Nice semi-circle couches that look like big jukeboxes.  Below are pictures to entice you to visit.  And you just might see the proprietor’s (?) cousin Jay-Ar.  They accommodate private parties or functions.  And bands play there too.  Call for the schedule.  It’s near the seminary and PETA.  Food’s [...]

The Spa @ Acropolis

Oh, wow.  That was nice!  I think the last massage I got was way back in 2000 or 2001 at Discovery Gym.  I used to have sports massages sometimes after a workout.  Yesterday, I was like a massage virgin again!  Haha!  The masseuse was pretty good.  I got a Shiatsu massage and my shoulder/neck area [...]

Stackers @ Eastwood Citywalk

Yum, yum, yum, yum, yum, yum, yum… For chicken between buns, I recommend Stackers.  They have a newly-opened branch in Piazza in McKinley Hills so that’s a welcome sight in my new site assignment.  Chicken cooked just right (although sometimes it can take a while) and affordable menu items make this burger joint a must-go-to [...]

Grams Diner @ Rockwell

Was hungry.  Haven’t tried the place.  Pictures below.  But I can’t say I’m gonna be looking to eat there again.  It felt authentic enough, I think, for a clean American diner.  But I’d rather go to Pancake House for food like what they’re serving.  And there’s Flapjacks too if you have extra cash to burn. [...]

Mr. Kurosawa @ Eastwood Mall

I can’t get over this waitress’ costume.  =)
I have to brush up on “European restaurant styles.”  Are zebra stripes “European”?
So here’s their menu.  Zebra stripes again.  I guess Afro-Japanese would be worse.
Table setting: plate, chop sticks, tea, and condiments.
Fish and chicken.  And, ugh, vegetables.
A green drink.  I think this one has some gin.
An ok date [...]

Crisostomo @ Eastwood Mall

I have no pictures of the food we ate there.  You would have to go there yourself.  :)  The menu has a lot of interestingly-named dishes.  The barbecue and (was it) adobo flakes or corned beef  (?  help, mgg!) looked scrumptuous!  Servings were ample-sized.  But stay clear of the lemon chicken.  It was like they [...]

Beer Belly sign and logo on their menu

Hanging lights in the likeness of cigarettes

Throwpillows! With bubble designs

We drank iced tea. It was lunch time!

Their menu…

I ordered Milkfish belly

Sisig. It’s a beer drinker’s haven.

More milkfish

Fish & Co @ Shangri-la

One Friday evening, we were supposed to go see the French Film Festival but arrived when the tickets for the last screening that night had all been given out.  So we just ate.  Someone suggested Fish & Co.  Fine, at least it had (some) Wi-Fi.
Their menu cover- nice and hard.  Bound.  Nice and hard-bound.
Seafood in [...]

Rockets @ Shopwise Libis

So I usually do my grocery shopping at Shopwise Libis Sundays after hitting the gym.  And I haven’t had lunch yet so I’d be hungry by the time I get to the grocery store.  Enter Rockets.  I mean, it’s just there.  So it should be “Enter, me!”  Hmm, that didn’t sound too nice, did it?  [...]
